Handle with care: Assessing the quality of literature and data as a health sciences researcher (Online)

In this session, participants will learn frameworks and strategies for performing quality assessments of literature and data. Instructors will cover the importance of information literacy, critical appraisal, data validation, and more.

Participants will be able to apply what they learned to real-world information at the close of the workshop, and in addition, will be able to:

  • Define ‘information literacy’ and ‘critical appraisal’ and understand their role in quality assessment
  • Determine the quality of an information source or dataset using criteria and frameworks discussed in class

While this class is aimed at researchers, other participants, such as students, are welcome.
