Climate Change Crisis and Environmental Justice in the Amazon: Voices From Indigenous Peoples and Actitivists

A Conference in Honor of Dom Phillips and Bruno Pereira

In collaboration with the Yale Law School, Yale School of the Environment, Yale School of Public Health, the MacMillan Center Program of Peace and Development, and the Yale Center for Environmental Justice, we are delighted to announce that we will host the “Climate Change Crisis and Environmental Justice in the Amazon: Voices from Indigenous Peoples and Activists” conference at Kroon Hall Auditorium (195 Prospect St.) on Friday, May 10 at 8:45am. The conference will feature a keynote by Marina Silva, the Brazilian Minister of the Environment, as well as other key indigenous rights leaders and scholars in this field.

This event is in honor of the journalists, writers, and activists Dom Phillips and Bruno Pereira who were assassinated in the Amazon in June 2022. For some background information about the journalists, please see this article or listen to this Radio Ambulante episode.
