Biography

Dr. Rumman is a pediatrician and pediatric pulmonologist. She completed her pediatric residency at Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem, and completed her pediatric pulmonary fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

Before joining the Sleep Medicine Program at Yale, Dr. Rumman’s work focused on establishing care for cystic fibrosis (CF) and primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) patients in Palestine. She is a founding member of the Middle East Cystic Fibrosis Association (MECFA) and participated in several international collaborations for research on CF and PCD.

She also participated in humanitarian work as a volunteer in several medical missions with Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) and currently serves as the chair of the pediatric pulmonology subcommittee at PCRF.

Dr. Rumman pursued another interest in sleep medicine and now interested in research to understand the different phenotypes of sleep apnea and how this can advance precision medicine and personalized treatments for sleep apnea patients.
