Dr. Gallagher received both her bachelors and doctorate from the School of Biosciences at University of Wales, Cardiff, in the UK, she subsequently moved to Germany for her postdoctoral training. It was at the University of Heidelberg where her research interests took her into the field of polycystic kidney disease.
Dr Gallagher’s research focuses on understanding the molecular basis of polycystic kidney disease with an emphasis on autosomal recessive PKD. Her current research interests include the role of Wnt signaling and planar polarity in cystic disease and renal homeostasis.
