Ahmad's Article Receives Award From Journal of Nuclear Medicine
Azmi Ahmad, PhD, postdoctoral fellow in internal medicine, has received the Alavi-Mandell Award from the Journal of Nuclear Medicine for his article, "Multimodality Imaging of Aortic Valve Calcification and Function in a Murine Model of Calcific Aortic Valve Disease and Bicuspid Aortic Valve." Ahmad was first author.
Flagg Begins Role as Outpatient Medical Director
Aron Flagg, MD, assistant professor of pediatrics (hematology/oncology), has become outpatient medical director for Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplantation.
Kesman Receives Yale Peds ACE for April
The Department of Pediatrics’ Award for Clinical Excellence (Yale Peds ACE) for April 2024 goes to Russell Kesman, MD, MSEd, assistant professor of pediatrics (critical care). Kesman serves in a pivotal role within both the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU), showcasing his exceptional ability to manage and coordinate care for the department's most complex patients as they transition between these units. Kesman has also taken a leading role in the educational development of fellows by heading board review sessions and delivering numerous lectures.
Mullan Is SSTP's 2024 Inductee
Clancy Mullan, MD, hospital resident, is the 2024 inductee to Yale's Surgeon Scientist Training Program (SSTP). Mullan is the third scholar to join the initiative since it was established in 2021. SSTP addresses an important need in academic training and pipeline development, offering surgical residents a unique platform to pursue uninterrupted research endeavors alongside their clinical responsibilities.
