Yale Center for Experimental Neuroimaging (YCEN)

The mission of YCEN is to foster interactions between Yale investigators who use advanced microscopy and in vivo imaging tools to study the physiology and pathology of the central and peripheral nervous systems. A particular area of interest of this center is to develop technologies and methods to image the dynamics of the diverse cell types in the brain (neurons, endothelium, astrocytes, pericytes, microglia and oligodendrocytes) and to learn how cell-cell interactions are disrupted in brain injury, vascular and neurodegenerative pathologies. This information and animals models are then used to develop novel hypotheses and therapeutic strategies for a variety of neurological conditions.
