Yale Postpartum Pelvic Rejuvenation is an individually tailored program to help postpartum women regain pelvic muscle strength.
Childbirth and pelvic muscle strength
Having a baby can seriously weaken your pelvic floor muscles. These are the muscles that cradle the pelvis between tailbone and pubic bone, supporting the bladder, uterus, and bowels and controlling the proper functioning of these organs.
Weakened pelvic floor muscles can lead to several problems, including urinary incontinence, prolapse, and decreased sexual satisfaction. Minor incontinence and other pelvic floor disorders often begin during pregnancy, due to the weight and pressure of the baby. After childbirth, pelvic floor muscles can weaken even more, causing back pain, pelvic pressure, incontinence and loss of sexual feeling.
If pelvic muscles are not strengthened during and after pregnancy, it is possible to develop serious bladder and bowl incontinence later in life. Our program provides individualized training which has proven to be 95% effective in restoring pelvic muscle strength.

About our program
The Yale Postpartum Pelvic Rejuvenation Program consists of a series of 30-minute private training sessions. We will analyze the function and coordination of your pelvic floor muscles and help you devise a personalized regimen to maintain muscle health.
You will be given medically proven exercises which can be fitted easily into your routine. These exercises can be performed at home and require only about three minutes per day.
