Dr. Saksa is a licensed clinical psychologist and an assistant professor at Yale School of Medicine. He is a specialist in cognitive behavior therapy, with more recent academic interests in early psychosis. He is involved with both early psychosis specialized treatment (STEP) and early identification treatment research programs (PRIME). He received his Psy.D. degree from the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut, USA and has been at Yale for 13 years. In addition to his doctoral studies, his CBT training includes 2 years of inpatient group and individual care at a psychiatric unit of a general hospital in Connecticut, 1 year at a State psychiatric hospital in New York, and specialized CBT training for anxiety disorders with David Barlow, Ph.D. in Boston. He currently teaches and supervises psychiatric residents and psychology doctoral student at Yale. Within the early psychosis specialized treatment program at Yale, Dr. Saksa conducts CBT group therapy.
