Biography
Katyayani (Katya) Papatla, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, and cares for patients as part of the Gynecologic Oncology Program at Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, Greenwich, and Stamford. She received her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where she also completed a masters in public health. Her residency was completed at Temple University Hospital and her fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
During residency, Dr. Papatla received a Best Resident Research Award as well as a Society of Gynecologic Oncology Outstanding Resident in Gynecologic Oncology Award. Her current research focuses on health equity for gynecologic oncology patients, and she is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology Diversity, Inclusion, and Health Equity Committee.
