To Accelerate Discovery that improves Health

Mission

The mission of the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation is to train outstanding clinical and translational scientists and to provide an effective and innovative infrastructure for clinical research and investigators that ultimately improves health outcomes for all members of society.

Specifically, we seek to:

  • Accelerate the evaluation and implementation of disease-related discoveries into new interventions to prevent, diagnose, and treat human disease.
  • Through a series of diverse and sustainable local and national community partnerships, co-develop clinical research priorities and approaches that result in improved health outcomes for all individuals and mitigate inequitable health outcomes.
  • Foster the science of translational research to enhance the feasibility, effectiveness, quality, safety, generalizability, and utility of clinical investigation.
  • Continuously collaborate with other investigators, including other CTSA hubs, to develop innovative research approaches, especially including new technologies and information systems, to expand the impact of clinical research.
  • Inspire and empower students, staff, trainees, and junior faculty members from the Yale University community for successful and fulfilling clinical and translational research careers.
  • Facilitate the success and integration of clinical research in Yale-New Haven Health System and Yale University Centers and Departments.
  • Create a collaborative, respectful, inspiring, and innovative organizational culture for staff, faculty, and trainees that is inclusive and equitable for all individuals and that continuously enhances the ability of staff to provide high quality services to the faculty and trainees of Yale University.
