Yale Department of Psychiatry Art Committee

In 2016, the Department of Psychiatry created an Art Committee as a sub-committee of the Diversity Task Force. Its mission has been to explore ways to best represent the Department's history, the breadth and scope of its work and accomplishment, and the diversity of its current community through art and visual representations in shared spaces.

One space identified for particular focus has been the main conference room at 300 George Street, which is used for a wide variety of purposes (including didactics, recruitment, faculty meetings, and special events) by many people affiliated with the Department. It has also been home to the portraits of the former Chairs of the Department, a placement that some members of the community have asked the Department to reconsider.

We invite you to submit your thoughts and suggestions via this web form.

In addition, please come by 300 George St. to see our installation "A Day in the Life of the Department", which represents activities and places identified by our faculty and trainees as important aspects of the Yale Psychiatry training experience. Click here for some "Behind the Scenes" shots from that photoshoot with photographer Bob Falcetti.
