Health Services Psychology Virtual Forum: Addressing Social Determinants of Health through Innovative Community Interventions

Social determinants of health are conditions where people live, work, and play that affect their health, quality of life, and functioning. Healthy People 2030 identifies five types of social determinants of health: economic stability; education access and quality; healthcare access and quality; neighborhood and built environment; and social and community context. Psychologically-informed interventions in the community to address these determinants can have a positive and sustained impact on health and well-being through the life course. This session describes three innovative, evidence-based community interventions that address various social determinants of health. There will be opportunities for questions and discussion after each presentation and a moderated discussion during the final portion of the session.
