Kelly Cosgrove, PhD

Professor of Psychiatry and of Neuroscience and of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging; Co-Director of the T32 Translational Alcohol Research Program, Psychiatry and Public Health

Dr. Cosgrove’s research uses brain imaging techniques to gain insight into the neurochemistry of people with alcohol and other substance use disorders and to evaluate relationships between brain and clinical outcomes, in particular during the transition to recovery. A primary focus of her work has been examining sex and gender differences in addiction with the goal of informing treatment development. As Co-Director of an NIAAA-funded T32, she is involved in mentoring and educating post-doctoral fellows in translational alcohol research. Dr. Cosgrove is an active participant in the Research Society of Alcohol and a past Board Member.
