Legislative Advocacy Working Group (LAWG)

LAWG members collaborate with Yale University’s Office of Federal and State Relations and Yale New Haven Health System senior staff to advocate for federal and state legislation concerning children’s behavioral health services, with the goal of translating research and evidence-based practice into effective policy change. Advocacy efforts include oral and written testimony as well as discussion around important issues at legislative forums, centered around the department’s legislative agenda each year.

Members

Social Innovation Working Group (SIWG)

SIWG members work together to foster understanding and engagement in policy opportunities; to increase understanding of legal authorities for policy transformation and increase awareness of policy interests across the YCSC; to foster collaboration among YCSC community members both internally and externally; to strengthen engagement with community “lived experience” organizations; and to increase engagement of faculty, staff, and trainees in policy activities that impact the health and well-being of children and families. Policy programming undertaken by Elevate is incorporated into this work as well.
