Administration Fellowship

For whom

Post-residency Emergency Physician who aspires to administrative leadership positions in private or academic practice. By having an active clinical practice in our department, the fellow will acquire experience in all facets of emergency department clinical operations.

Overview

During the two-year fellowship, beginning in July, the candidate will complete the MBA for Executives program at the Yale School of Management and a clinical Emergency Medicine Administrative Fellowship. In addition, the candidate will play a leadership role on one or more projects from the offices of the Chair and Vice Chair for Clinical Operations. Projects may include, but are not limited to: operational management of new or existing programs, capital budgeting, compensation/incentive development for staff, performance improvement, regulatory affairs, strategic planning, and marketing.

How to Apply

Interested applicants must apply for admission to the MBA for Executives program at the Yale School of Management. Application requirements include two letters of recommendation, a resume, essays and a valid Executive Assessment (EA), GMAT or GRE score (less than five years old). Successful candidates will have completed an ABEM-accredited residency in emergency medicine and board eligible/board certified (by the time they begin fellowship). Please submit a recent standardized test score (see above), a cover letter/personal statement, and three letters of recommendation (two from clinical mentors/colleagues, and one from an academic/administrative mentor who can attest to the candidate’s leadership potential).
