Sports Medicine

The Division of Sports Medicine is a leading center for research, innovative treatments, and comprehensive care for athletes and active individuals at all levels. Our world-renowned faculty are dedicated to advancing the understanding of sports medicine and pushing the boundaries of its practice through a range of non-surgical, preventative, and interventional treatment options.

Through pioneering research, we contribute to the development of novel therapies, provide evidence-based treatment recommendations, and maximize injury prevention strategies to help patients achieve optimal performance and maintain overall health.

This research encompasses various aspects of sports medicine, including biomechanics, multi-ligament knee injuries, 3D patient-specific surgical corrections, joint preservation, and clinical outcomes. These investigations delve into the intricacies of musculoskeletal injuries, exploring solutions for conditions such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears, rotator cuff injuries, and patellofemoral instability.

By studying the cellular and molecular mechanisms behind cartilage repair and restoration, our researchers also aim to develop cutting-edge therapies and treatment plans that expedite healing and minimize the risk of further injury and ensure a safe and efficient return to full of activity.
